Stuck in mud? It’s never a good time when your vehicle gets stuck in mud but it may have been a lot of fun just beforehand. Perhaps you’ve been trying to throttle the gas pedal in a hope you’ll magically get yourself out of the mess you’ve found yourself in.
Tragically, it isn’t always that easy, yeah you can call our towing company and pay us for a winch service or you can try some of these steps below and hope for the best.
Are You Stuck In Mud, Thinking?
If your car is stuck in mud hopefully this blog post and 8 tips will help you see the green grass on the other side of the mud so to say. Otherwise our Towing Company in Naperville Tow Recover Assist, has you covered throughout the Chicago Metropolitan Area.
Tips To Help You Not Have To Pay For A Winch Or Recovery
1. Stop Excessively Throttling The Pedal
Have you ever been stuck in mud? Just like the 1st tip the 1st thing and or reaction is to accelerate the vehicle typically without thinking in an excessive fashion. If you were to go back in time and think about it you’d probably be a little bit more gentile with the gas pedal hence now you are stuck and you just realized this could have actually made the entire situation even worse. If tires are spinning, they’re not gripping. When the tires are spinning and not gripping you will only dig your tires deeper into the mud. Stuck in mud, need a winch service near me?
2. Analyze The Stuck In Mud Situation
Regardless of the situation at hand, you’ll need to figure things out and make a game plan to be successful. Worse case scenario, you can search for a towing company near me, call them/us and pay them/us for a winch service. After you realize you are stuck the analyzation process starts with you hopping out of your vehicle and accessing the tires and sloppy surface beneath them. This will give you some point of view on the circumstance you’re managing and get the ball rolling with the hopes that you will also be rolling soon enough.
3. Remove As Much Weight As Possible
Are there others in the vehicle with you and or anything on the heavier side that can be removed? Assuming this is the case, requesting them to get out of the vehicle and stand outside may be the cure to your stuck in the mud situation at hand. Not only that but by eliminating generally everything and anything that has some weight to it may also help set you free. The thought is to make the vehicle as light as conceivably possible to make it simpler to get it, opposite of stuck in the mud.
4. Jack Up Vehicle & Prep For Success
If you aren’t scared of the mud this step is a game changer, but it may require getting your hands, clothes and shoes a little dirty. Locate your vehicle’s jack and then start jacking up whichever side is having the stuck in the mud problem, hence the tire that is spinning in the mud.
Now get the vehicle’s tire high enough where you can begin scooping out some of the mud and or where you’ll be able to add something that will help you gain some traction. Things to put under the tire that will help with traction include: some cardboard, wood, floor-mat, towel, etc. You may have to repeat this process for each and every tire with that is stuck in the mud.
5. Add Something To The Front Of The Tires
The above step aka #4 is probably not going to work out for most people. A quicker way to rock the situation, with the potential of not getting quite as dirty, would be to “add something to the front of the tires”, simply said but not always simply done so to say.
Rather then getting down and dirty in the mud, hence trying to jack up the vehicle and then installing some form of material under the tire(s), perhaps you can simply add something to the front of the tires and roll right out. Now unfortunately, tip #5 doesn’t always work, especially when surfaces are extremely muddy and or in a lot of situations there is simply nothing available to use.
6. Keep Tires Straight & Accelerate
With your steering centered and tires straight you can slowly let off the brake and start to apply the gas pedal to see what happens. Maybe you get lucky, maybe you don’t, if the tires keep spinning you are only going to dig yourself in deeper and make things more difficult in the long run. Still stuck in mud? If that is the case it may be best to put the car in park, read tip #7 and maybe a little tip #6 & tip #7 combo is just what the doctor ordered.
7. Have People Push From The Back
Maybe it’s your lucky day and you have a bunch of friends around to help give you a friendly push? If you ask nice and sweetly maybe they will be the answer to your stuck in mud situation. Have them give it a little push as you accelerate the vehicle a bit and hopefully this proves that the grass is greener on the other side of the big mud pit.
8. Call A Towing Company For A Winch Service
Hopefully the previous 7 tips will help get you out of the mud rolling down the street to where you need to go. If not #8 is the sure thing that you can count on.
